What is Sikhism
Sikhism is the fifth greatest organized religious faith in the world based on teaching of Guru Nanak and nine more successive Gurus. This organization of religious doctrine and aspect has been commonly known as Gurmat or the Sikh Dharma. Sikhism developed from the word Sikh, which in turn arrives from the Sanskrit word Sishya meaning "disciple" or "learner", or Siksha meaning teaching.
The chief belief of Sikhism is faith in WaheGuru; made up of using the sanctified symbol of Ek Onkar, the Universal God. Sikhism recommends the pursuit of salvation through trained, personal meditation on the name and content of God. A key distinct feature of Sikh religion is a non-anthropomorphic concept of God, to the degree that one can understand God as universe itself. The followers of Sikhism are ordained to follow the instructions of the ten Sikh Gurus, or enlightened leaders, as well as the Holy Scripture entitled the Guru Granth Sahib, which includes selected works of many devotees from several socioeconomic and religious backgrounds. The religious text was decreed by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru, as the final Guru of Khalsa Panth.

Basics of Sikhism
Sikhism is youngest of all world's religions. Its history goes back to 1469. The founder of Sikh religion, Guru Nanak Dev was born in village called Talwandi, now known as Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, in 1469. The Sikhs have ten Gurus. Sikhs call God as WaheGuru, meaning that God is great.
Guru Granth Sahib is the holy book of the Sikhs. The Sikhs pray to only one Almighty God in his nonobjective form. They are not admitted to worship any idols, images or photographs. According to the Sikh belief, God is eternal truth; he is beyond fear, enmity and death. He is unborn and is self illuminated. He himself is the creator, preserver and destroyer. The conceive that all creation is assured by one almighty, ever-present and omniscient Lord called different name, Ishwar, Jehovah, Allah and Waheguru.
