Who are Sikhs?

Sikhs, especially those properly inducted into the faith, keep their hair uncut as gift of the Guru - Prophet, and God, and they keep their heads covered with a turban of any style and color. The Sikh women also keep their heads covered, mostly with a length of cloth. Both men and women may wear their traditional or western dresses. There are others, not properly inducted into the faith, and although most of them do, but a few may not preserve their hair.

Sikhs, in general are peace loving and polite. They are always ready to put resistance for their rights, justice and freedom. Their main avocations are farming, army service and they excel in the fields of engineering and medicine, especially surgery. In their history, they had great scholar like Bhai Gurdas, Bhai Mani Singh Shahid, Bhai Nand Lal, Baba Deep Singh Shahid and many more.
